GoPro shoots higher on new entry-level action camera

Action camera maker GoPro (GPRO) on Monday expanded its product lineup again, introducing a new entry-level camera with a touchscreen LCD display. GoPro’s new Hero+ LCD camera will be available in the U.S. starting Sunday and cost $299.99. The touchscreen will allow for camera control, shot framing and in-camera playback. Users will also be able to do video trimming on the device to create short clips for easy content sharing without a computer. The Hero+ LCD camera shoots 1080p high-definition video at 60 frames per second and takes 8-megapixel still photos. It has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. “Hero+ LCD illustrates that even as we push the limits of life capture with bleeding-edge devices like the Hero 4 Black, we’re also focused on delivering accessible, high-quality capture solutions to anyone wanting to GoPro,” GoPro CEO Nick Woodman said in a statement.
