VMware can “mow down” rival Citrix Systems in the desktop virtualization market. So concludes Mark Murphy, a Piper Jaffray analyst, who on Thursday raised his rating on VMware (VMW) stock from neutral to outperform, saying that VMware could get the upper hand in its duel with Citrix Systems (CTXS) in desktop virtualization after some key Citrix executives left to join VMware.
