Addressing safety after a few car fires that led the stock to slump in late 2013, Tesla Motors (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said Friday that the company has added three shields to its electric Model S sedans: a hollow aluminum bar to deflect objects or absorb impact, and both a titanium underbody plate and an aluminum layer to further protect.
