Qorvo Pulls Apple Chip Suppliers Down With Q2 Views

Shares of Apple (AAPL) chip supplier Qorvo (QRVO) tumbled in after-hours trade Wednesday as the company’s second-quarter guidance fell short of expectations. Qorvo, which was formed earlier this year in the $1.6 billion RF Micro Devices-TriQuint Semiconductor merger, earned an adjusted $1.09 a share, beating a Thomson Reuters analyst poll by 3 cents. Apple, Samsung lose ground in tablet market

Apple (AAPL) and Samsung, the top two makers of tablet computers, lost market share in the second quarter as smaller rivals like Lenovo and LG Electronics gained share, market research firm IDC reported Wednesday. Worldwide shipments of tablets fell 7% year over year to 44.7 million units in Q2. But market leader Apple saw its shipments drop 17.9% and No. 2 Samsung notched a 12% decline, IDC said.
