PC sales could stall as buyers await Microsoft’s Windows 10

Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows 10 is so compelling that it is likely to fuel PC sales next year, but could hurt sales in the interim as buyers wait for the new operating system, FBN Securities analyst Shebly Seyrafi said in a research note Thursday. Seyrafi initiated coverage of Microsoft with an outperform rating and a price target of 55. Microsoft shares were down a fraction in midday trading, below 46, on the stock market today. Microsoft (MSFT) stock is near a 14-year high on enthusiasm over the company’s direction under new CEO Satya Nadella. The outlook for Microsoft is positive because of a possible Windows 10 upgrade cycle and momentum in the company’s cloud computing offerings, including Office 365 and Azure, Seyrafi said.
