M icrosoft’s “Windows as a service” and holographic computing announcements show that the company is innovating and making bold moves under CEO Satya Nadella as he nears his first anniversary as chief executive officer. Microsoft (MSFT) detailed its next-generation operating system, Windows 10, on Wednesday during a media event at the company’s headquarters in Redmond, Wash. Microsoft stock fell 1% Wednesday on the news that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to users of the last two major versions of the PC operating system (Windows 7 and 8) during its first year. But Wall Street analysts on Thursday were largely positive on Microsoft’s announcements. Microsoft stock was up 2% in afternoon trading on the stock market today, near 47.
