Despite Weak IPO Market, Venture Funding Rose In Q3

Despite a weak market for initial public offerings in the third quarter, venture capital firms continued to pump money into startup companies. U.S.-based companies received $19 billion in venture capital funding in the third quarter, led by Uber and Social Finance, which each received $1 billion.
