Worldwide chip sales jumped 9.9% in 2014 to a record $335.8 billion, with logic and memory chipmakers leading the growth, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) says in a report set to be released early Monday. December 2014 achieved $29.1 billion in sales — a record for a December, says the SIA.
