If startup Aereo prevails in a legal battle that has reached the U.S. Supreme Court, the pay-TV industry structure that supports “retransmission fee” payments to TV broadcasters would still carry on, at least until existing contracts expire, RBC Capital Markets said in a report Tuesday. The Supreme Court in January said it will hear broadcasters’ challenge to startup Aereo, whose TV-over-Internet service has set off a legal fight vs. Walt Disney’s Scalper1 News
