Apple (AAPL) on Monday balked at giving pre-order numbers for the first 24 hours of iPhone 6S availability, something it’s done historically for other models. Instead, Apple gave statements to the press saying that its iPhone 6S smartphones are “on pace” to beat the first-weekend sales record (10 million units) set last year by the iPhone 6 smartphones.
