Alibaba Elevates Cloud Efforts With $1 Bil Investment

Alibaba Group (BABA) is expanding its cloud computing tentacles with a new $1 billion investment to expand efforts in international markets. Already the largest public cloud-services company in China, Alibaba said the money will be used to expand international operations through its cloud unit, Aliyun. It plans new centers for cloud services in the Middle East, Singapore, Japan and Europe. Alibaba, which also is China’s largest e-commerce firm, Scalper1 News
