Yahoo Cuts China R&D Site, Joins U.S. Tech Retreat

Joining other major tech firms that have recently made cuts to their China outposts, Yahoo (YHOO) reportedly is shuttering its Beijing research and development center, letting go several hundred employees in the process. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based tech firm reportedly plans to consolidate some of those functions into fewer offices, according to the South China Morning Post.
