Online Coupon Companies Get Clipped By Investors

Online coupon companies RetailMeNot (SALE) and Coupons.com got clipped by investors on Tuesday after both gave disappointing guidance. RetailMeNot Q2 Earnings, Outlook Fall Short Of Views

RetailMeNot (SALE) stock plunged Tuesday to an all-time low after the company’s Q2 sales missed forecasts and its outlook for the rest of 2014 disappointed analysts. The digital coupon provider reported earnings after the market close Monday. Revenue rose 37% to $59.5 million, below the consensus estimate of $60.4 million. Coupons.com IPO A Hot Ticket, Soars 88% On First Day

Coupons.com cashed in a winning ticket Friday with an initial public offering that nearly doubled on its first day of trading. The website provider of digital coupons priced at $16, above the expected $12-$14 range. The NYSE-listed stock opened at 27, climbed to 33 intraday before closing up 88% at 30.01.
