Danaher Acquiring Pall, Splitting Off Industrial Biz

Electronic instrument giant Danaher (DHR) announced Wednesday that it’s buying Pall (PLL) — a maker of filtration and separation systems that, like Danaher, serves both industrial and life-science markets — for $13.8 billion.
