Amazon (AMZN) and its cloud business are likely going to face vigorous competition from Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google for its now-dominant cloud computing business, as Microsoft (MSFT) and other competitors continue to struggle to gain market share. Late Thursday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced in a blog post that the tech-giant has hired former VMWare (VMW) CEO Diane Greene to lead the firm’s cloud operations.
