Solar Stocks Dim As OPEC Sticks To Production Levels

Solar stock prices were down Friday after OPEC members on Thursday opted to keep their production ceiling unchanged despite plunging oil prices. First Solar (FSLR) stock was down 5% near 49 in midday trading on the stock market today. SolarCity (SCTY) was down 3% near 55; SunEdison (SUNE) was down 5% near 21; and SunPower (SPWR) was down 4% near 28. Canadian Solar (CSIQ)was down 11% near 24. Trina Solar Cuts Solar Shipment View, Stock Slides

Trina Solar (TSL) early Monday posted a double-digit increase in revenue that nevertheless missed Wall Street expectations, while lowering its full-year solar module shipment forecast. SunPower Buys SolarBridge To Leverage Its Technology

SunPower announced Monday that it has acquired microinverter manufacturer SolarBridge Technologies. San Jose, Calif.-based SunPower (SPWR) builds utility-scale solar projects and is the No. 2 manufacturer of solar panels in the U.S., behind First Solar (FSLR).
