Apple (AAPL) launched its bid to stay relevant in the music industry on Tuesday with the debut of Apple Music, a streaming music service built on its acquisition last year of Beats. Apple made the subscription service available to its millions of mobile device users through an update to the iOS 8 operating system about 11 a.m. EDT.
