Video: Will Apple’s own content delivery light a fire under its TV sales?

Apple (AAPL) is developing its own content delivery network, which might be just what the doctor ordered for its flagging Apple TV set-top box sales. Market research firm Strategy Analytics on Tuesday said Apple’s TV sales growth has slowed significantly this year in the face of increased competition from the likes of Amazon.com (AMZN) and Google (GOOGL). Apple’s market share in OTT (over-the-top) video streaming has dropped to 27% from 38% in 2012, says Strategy Analytics in a report released Tuesday. Robots not job killers, trade group says as sales hit record

A record 14,135 robots, valued at $788 million, were ordered from North American robotics companies in the first half of 2014, an increase of 30% in units and 16% in revenue over the same period in 2013. The second quarter was the main driver of first-half sales, with 8,197 robots valued at $450 million sold to North American customers. This performance shattered the previous record for a single quarter, which was Q4 2012. The Q2 2014 numbers exceeded the prior record…

Apple, Visa Mobile Payments Coming With iPhone 6?

Apple (AAPL) and Visa could soon announce an alliance in mobile payments, Pacific Crest Securities speculated in a research note Monday. Such an Apple-Visa partnership would be a negative for eBay’s (EBAY) PayPal, Pac Crest says. Apple is expected to roll out the iPhone 6 in September or October. “We expect the iPhone 6 to be launched with near-field communications (NFC) and secure element technologies, which would provide Apple with a broad
