Synaptics Raises Outlook On Fingerprint Sensor Sales

Synaptics (SYNA) late Thursday forecast current quarter revenue growth above expectations and raised its sales outlook for fingerprint ID products built into smartphones. San Jose, Calif.-based Synaptics, which has been the biggest supplier of touchpads in notebook computers, in October acquired Validity Sensors, whose fingerprint ID technology is used in smartphones from Samsung and others.
