Synaptics is looking to complement its smartphone touch-interface technology with the purchase of another smartphone chip supplier, according to media reports. Synaptics (SYNA) is in talks with Japan’s Renesas Electronics to buy its majority stake in Renesas SP Drivers, a maker of display chips for Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone, Reuters reported Wednesday.
