Smartphone owners hooked on Facebook, Twitter, Candy Crush

Facebook might no longer be cool with teenagers, but it’s far and away the most popular app on smartphones overall. A survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners shows Facebook dominating mobile apps, with four times the usage of the next most popular app, Twitter. CIRP surveyed 500 people who activated a mobile phone in the third quarter and asked them to name their three most frequently used mobile apps. Facebook (FB) was No. 1 with 45% of smartphone users, followed by Twitter (TWTR)with 13% and King’s addictive video game “Candy Crush Saga” with 11%. “Facebook just dominates mobile phones, in terms of most frequent use, not just downloads,” CIRP co-founder and partner Mike Levin said in a statement Wednesday. “For most other apps, including some well-known ones like YouTube and Pandora (P), fewer than 10% of phone buyers included them among the most frequently used.” When you look at … Scalper1 News
