Ciena (CIEN) and Infinera are likely acquisition targets, says an analyst responding to Nokia’s announcement that it will buy Alcatel-Lucent for about $16.6 billion. In a research report Wednesday, Catharine Trebnick, an analyst for Dougherty & Co., said Nokia’s push to boost its telecom equipment business could provide reason for rival Ericsson (ERIC) to acquire Ciena, Infinera (INFN) or both.
