Netflix investors enthused by content deals, tech refresh

Netflix stock rose 2.2% Thursday on continued positive sentiment for the subscription streaming video service. The Los Gatos, Calif.-based company on Wednesday launched a new user interface for smart TVs, gaming consoles and set-top boxes. The spiffed-up navigation screen is designed to make it easier for users to find TV shows and movies that they will enjoy watching. Ultimately the redesigned UI is about retaining subscribers by making them more active users of the service . Netflix (NFLX) also is making waves with its content deals. Last week , Netflix announced a deal with Walt Disney ‘s (DIS) Marvel studios to make four TV series featuring Marvel comic-book heroes Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.
