Netflix eyeballing China, plots global expansion

Netflix(NFLX) is eyeballing China as it plots global expansion. Netflix — which on Monday set a September launch for six European markets, including Germany and France — talked about prospects for China on its Q2 conference call with analysts. According to the online video streamer’s letter to shareholders, after this fall’s expansion in Europe, “we’ll address about one-third (271 million of 728 million) of current global broadband households, providing a great opportunity to build on our international success beyond 2014.” On the conference call late Monday, Netflix CFO David Wells added: “Around that range of 700 million to 800 million are today’s broadband households.
