Best Buy (BBY), Target and Wal-Mart used Apple iPad tablets as door-buster sale items late Thursday and Friday, and reports indicate they were a huge hit with holiday shoppers. Wal-Mart (WMT) said Friday that it sold 1.4 million tablets overall on Thanksgiving and noted that the iPad Mini (bundled with a $100 Wal-Mart gift card) was a top seller. Target (TGT) said Friday that the iPad Air was one of its hot items. The retailer offered the new model tablet for $479, which is $20 less than Apple ‘s (AAPL) list price, along with a $100 Target gift card, dropping the effective price to $379. “Early indications are that it may be an iPad holiday season,” Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry said in a research note Friday.
