Worldwide shipments of workstations — high-end computers used by engineers, architects and designers — rose 8.8% year over year in Q4, marking the seventh consecutive quarter of growth for the category. Total workstation shipments topped 946,000 units in the fourth quarter, IDC reported Wednesday. For the full year, global shipments rose 8.9% to 3.7 million units, up from 2.9% growth in 2013.
