FuelCell Extends Rally Early But Citron Unplugs Peers

Fuel cell companies got an early lift Tuesday from FuelCell Energy (FCEL), but a short-seller’s report on Plug Power (PLUG) sent that stock and peer Ballard Power Systems (BLDP) down sharply in afternoon trading. Fuel cells, long touted as a way to store energy, haven’t been commercially viable. Companies in the field enjoyed little revenue and ongoing losses.
