Consumers taking wait-and-watch approach to Apple Watch

Expectations for the Apple Watch are modest, with many consumers on the fence about Apple’s (AAPL) upcoming smartwatch fitness band. In a research note Wednesday, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said he expects Apple (AAPL)  to sell 10 million units of Apple Watch next year at an average selling price of $500. That would generate $5 billion in sales, adding 3% to his revenue projections for Apple in calendar-year 2015. Munster noted that some media reports have suggested that Apple could manufacture 30 million smartwatches next year, indicating a wide range of expectations for the new device. To date, less than 3 million smartwatches in total have been sold from manufacturers such as Samsung, Sony (SNE) and Pebble, Munster said Scalper1 News
