CBS streaming video shows cable bundles are fraying

Just one day after HBO announced a stand-alone streaming video service, CBS on Thursday entered the over-the-top Internet television fray with its own service. The actions by the two content providers signal a fraying of pay-TV bundles. CBS announced the launch of CBS All Access, a subscription on-demand and live-streaming video service for the CBS Television Network. For $5.99 a month, subscribers can stream thousands of episodes from the current season, previous seasons and classic shows on demand, as well as watch live streams from local CBS TV stations in 14 of the largest U.S. markets. CBS launched the service on Thursday at CBS.com and on mobile devices through the CBS App for Apple (AAPL) iOS and Google (GOOGL) Android.
