Baidu’s Qunar Stock Soars As It Fires Back At Ctrip

Chinese travel company Qunar (QUNR) says it attracted a record number of single-day airline bookings in its New Year’s sales event, sending its U.S. stock 13% higher in afternoon trading Friday. Customers booked more than 60,000 flights during a 24-hour period over the holiday, the Beijing-based Qunar Cayman Islands said in a press release. China online search leader Baidu (BIDU) holds a controlling stake in Qunar. Qunar competes in China with Scalper1 News
