Baidu Fined For Video Copyright Infringement In China

China search leader Baidu (BIDU), as well as video website Qvod Technology, were fined Monday for copyright infringement, with authorities saying the two companies’ media player software provided access to pirated videos. The companies were each fined about $41,240 by the National Copyright Administration of China, according to a representative of China online video company Youku Tudou (YOKU).
