Apple Ramps Up Hiring In Ireland Ahead Of Tax Ruling

Under scrutiny by the European Union for its tax-sheltering deal with Ireland, Apple (AAPL) is bolstering its operations on the Emerald Isle, promising to hire 1,000 extra workers by mid-2017. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the planned hiring on Wednesday. The Cupertino, Calif.-based company currently has 5,000 workers in Ireland, after adding 1,000 jobs in the past year.
