Apple (AAPL) and Chinese rivals Huawei and Xiaomi outpaced the overall smartphone market in the second quarter and gained market share. Meanwhile, No. 1 vendor Samsung was the only top smartphone maker to post a year-over-year unit shipment decline, research firm IDC said Thursday.
