The script for TV viewing in China got more intense, with Alibaba Group (BABA) rolling out its much anticipated subscription video service. Netflix (NFLX) is expected to enter the China market soon. Alibaba’s service is called TBO, or Tmall Box Office, the video streaming service began showing up this week in software updates for Alibaba’s smart TV operating system in China, in what the company called a beta test.
