Adobe Ends Earnings Decline As Creative Cloud Booms

Adobe Systems (ADBE) unexpectedly returned to profit growth in its fiscal Q2 as the software maker’s subscription-based business continued to boom, sending shares sharply higher after the close. Adobe earned 37 cents a share excluding various items. That was 3% higher than a year earlier and the first such increase in seven quarters. Wall Street had expected another decline, to 30 cents.
