There were 28 initial public offerings backed by venture capital last quarter, the fifth consecutive quarter of 20 or more such IPOs. The Q2 tally, though, fell below the 37 VC-backed initial public offerings in Q1, which marked the strongest three-month period for new listings since Q3 2000, according to the National Venture Capital Association.
