Google Won’t Buy Twitter, Says Rosenblatt Securities

Search leader Google (GOOGL) won’t acquire microblog Twitter (TWTR) despite persistent rumors of such a hookup, an analyst said Friday. Rumors emerged about a possible Google-Twitter union after Verizon Communications (VZ) in May announced it would buy AOL for $4.4 billion. Rumors that Twitter might be sold intensified in June, pushing up Twitter stock nearly 6% on June 30. But Rosenblatt Securities analyst Martin Pyykkonen discounts the chatter.
