Myriad Price Cut Reflects Changing Gene-Test Industry

The genetic-testing industry has come under the microscope again after Myriad Genetics’ breast-cancer gene test got a big reimbursement cut from the federal government, adding pressure to a field whose 2014 outlook is cloudy. Ultra high-definition TVs, wearable computers and sensors, and consumer 3D printers are among the products expected to make waves next week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Officially known as the International CES, it is expected to attract 150,000 attendees, more than 3,200 exhibitors and take up 1.9 million net square feet of exhibit space.
