Adobe Stock Down On Mixed Q3 Report, Weak Q4 Guidance

Adobe Systems delivered mixed fiscal third-quarter results late Tuesday, with earnings per share beating expectations but sales just below Wall Street’s target. Fourth-quarter guidance also missed. Adobe Systems (ADBE) stock was down nearly 5% in trading after hours and after the company released results. Shares rose a fraction in Tuesday’s regular session, to 70.73. On Sept. 8, Adobe came within pennies of an all-time closing high, at 73.39.

With an estimated $8 billion in net proceeds coming from its IPO this week, Alibaba will have loads of cash for its U.S. expansion. Alibaba Group (BABA) founder Jack Ma made clear his plans to build a global company when he spoke to reporters before an investor’s luncheon on Monday, ahead of the company’s initial public offering. Alibaba stock is expected to price late Thursday and start trading Friday, and it could be the largest U.S. IPO ever.
