B illionaire investor Carl Icahn might have to readjust his expectations for Apple (AAPL) now that it appears his hopes for an Apple-branded television set have been squashed. Just hours after Icahn posted a bullish note on Apple based on assumptions that Apple would enter the TV and electric car businesses, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple had shelved its plans for a television more than a year ago. After nearly a decade of research, Apple decided not to make a television set because it couldn’t offer enough breakthrough features to justify entering the highly competitive market, the WSJ said.
