Facebook, Google seen gaining as video ads go mobile

Just as Facebook has revised its video ad pricing policy, research group eMarketer is highlighting a new survey indicating that people who view video on their smartphones aren’t spending much time with each video but are willing to sit through ads in exchange for saving a few dollars. A recent survey by the Interactive Advertising Bureau found that 78% of respondents would rather watch free mobile videos with ads, while just 15% preferred to pay for a monthly mobile video subscription with no ads. The rest said that they’d rather pay for individual mobile videos without any ads, the IAB survey found. Apple iPhone 6S seen offering better battery life

Apple (AAPL) iPhone fans could get their wish for longer battery life with the next iPhone based on a report that it is using a more power-efficient wireless chip. Plus, the motherboard that includes the chip is narrower and more compact, which could allow for a slightly bigger battery, the website said. A recent..

It is offering its Redmi 2 for about $160, which is up to half the price of comparable smartphones from rivals such as Lenovo and Samsung, the Financial Times reported. Xiaomi sees Brazil as a stepping stone into Latin America. In Asia, Xiaomi sells smartphones in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India and Indonesia. Also Thursday, Xiaomi revealed disappointing smartphone sales for the first half of 2015. It sold 34.7 million smartphones in the first six months of the year, up 33% year over year. At its current pace, it will miss its unit sales target for the year of 80 million to 100 million, CNBC reported. Xiaomi has been impacted by a broader slowdown in the Chinese smartphone market as well as…
