GoPro stock dives as company debuts waterproof camera

GoPro (GPRO) stock was underwater in afternoon trading Monday, hours after the company announced a tiny new waterproof action camera. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company unveiled its Hero 4 Session camera before the market opened Monday. The camera is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than its best-selling Hero 4 Black and Silver models. It features a durable waterproof design (up to 33 feet) that eliminates the need for a separate housing and has a simple one-button control. The new camera retails for $399.99 and will be available on Sunday. The Hero 4 Session captures video in 1440p resolution at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 FPS and 720p at 100 FPS. It also shows 8 megapixel photos in single, burst and time lapse modes. GoPro stock was down 2.8% to 50.30 in afternoon trading on the stock market today, an overall down day for Wall Street. As the overall market slumps, Facebook (FB) is trading higher in the stock market today, and it’s in a buy area.
