Apple (AAPL) has confirmed its acquisition of PrimeSense, a developer of 3D machine vision technology, but what it plans to do with it remains a mystery. “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” Apple (AAPL) spokeswoman Kristin Huguet said in a statement to AllThingsD.
