Apple’s next smartphone could be thinner, lighter iPhone Air

Apple has taken to heart the words of Wallis Simpson, who famously said, “You can never be too rich or too thin.” With $159 billion in cash and securities as of Dec. 28, Apple (AAPL) is well known to be living the former. And with its upcoming iPhone 6, Apple is seeing how far it can push the latter. Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White said Apple engineers are pushing to make the next model iPhone significantly thinner than the current, already wispy model.
