Apple iPhone 6 won’t have sapphire screen, report says

Apple gadget fans hoping for a super-strong, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal screen on the upcoming iPhone 6 are going to be disappointed. The new handset is not going to have one, says Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Mehdi Hosseini in a research note Tuesday. “Recent checks among the leading display manufacturers suggest sapphire use in the upcoming product launch by Apple will be limited to the home button in iPhone 6 (4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models) and the cover material for iWatch,” Hosseini said in a report on Corning (GLW).
