Early supplies of the new Apple (AAPL) wearable device were quickly snapped up Friday when it became available for pre-order online starting about 3 a.m. Eastern time. “The start of Apple Watch pre-orders was typical Apple,” BTIG analyst Walter Piecyk said in a research report Friday. “Expected delivery dates were pushed out for the most popular models within 5 minutes and within the hour only a few models remained available for a launch day (April 24) delivery.” Soon after pre-orders began, delivery dates for the most popular models were pushed back three to four weeks, to May 13-27.
