No. 3 chipmaker Qualcomm (QCOM) upped its smartphone game Wednesday as the chipmaker announced a partnership with Japan’s TDK, taking on fellow Apple (AAPL) chip suppliers Qorvo (QRVO), Avago Technologies (AVGO) and Skyworks Solutions (SWKS).
